Lisa Patefield, Executive Director: Lisa is the glue that holds our little shelter together. She has become a familiar face among Jefferson County residents due to the education and guidance she has provided throughout her decade with the HSJC. She has shared both tears and cheers with the people who have walked through our door and oversees day to day operations as we provide second chances to homeless animals. Lisa works hand in hand with our Board of Directors to assure that our shelter runs smoothly and will continue to do so in the future.
Terri Presper, Writer and Editor: Terri's flair for writing and editing ensures that the shelter's communications are both professional and fun to read! She creates the content and layout of our quarterly newsletters, writes for grant opportunities, produces the wording for "Happy Endings" and other text for direct mail pieces, and writes the "Pets of the Week" feature which appears every Friday in the Daily Jefferson County Union. Have you ever chuckled as you read the profiles of our animals on Petfinder.com? That's because Terri has a knack for capturing the individual personality of each and every pet. In addition to serving as the shelter's scribe, she is also the photographer for adoptable pet pictures and at our many shelter events.
Michelle Jenson, Community Outreach Coordinator: Whether she is at the shelter or visiting private schools, youth groups, libraries, colleges, businesses, and churches, Michelle is busy providing humane education to the citizens of Jefferson County. She organizes all of our fundraising events and works to develop new opportunities for people to support the care of lost, homeless and abused animals. Our shelter could not function without the numerous volunteers who give of their time and talent, and Michelle's goal is to find just the right spot for them!
Danielle Bartz, Dan Ellis, Chandra Gates, Diane Lundt, Samantha Maurice, Larry Wanless: Our remarkably dedicated caregivers work very hard to provide conscientious and compassionate care to every animal at the HSJC. Cleaning and disinfecting cages and kennels, administering medications, assessing animal behavior, tailoring animal care to individual needs, and providing 24-hour stray pick-ups are just a few of their many duties. Through the tireless efforts of the HSJC's "Dream Team," every animal receives top notch care in a clean, comfortable and loving environment.
Misty Moltzau, Angie Ripley: Misty and Angie provide excellent customer service while juggling the multitude of administrative tasks that are essential to shelter operations. They also coordinates all animal intakes and adoptions, doing their utmost to ensure that our animals are placed in loving, permanent homes.
Dan Haried: Dan works hard to ensure our grounds and building are well-maintained and everything is in working order.
