Hi, I'm Dubois!
I'm a 8 year old neutered male white with tan, yellow or fawn Chihuahua.
Age: Approximately 8 years
Weight: 9 lbs
Physical Description: Smooth-coated white with tan, semi-erect ears, long tail.
My Story: I'm an 8 year old sweetheart who is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly to kind and gentle people. Give me a few minutes to get acquainted and I'll love having you pet me and tell me what a good boy I am! (I'm wearing a BiteNot collar in my picture so I can't lick the incision site from my neuter surgery - it is NOT a collar used to keep a dog from biting people!). I have nice leash manners, a medium energy level, and I seem to like most other dogs. I was neglected in my prior home so I'm looking for an adopter who will take great care of me. Due to my small size and tendency to feel timid at times, I'm approved for families with respectful children aged 13 and up. I'll need a tiny bit of time to feel comfortable in my new home, but once I do, I'll be an extremely loving and devoted companion! Dubois is approved for families with children aged 13 and up.
The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
I have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and I've received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. I have tested negative for heartworm.
If you are interested in adopting me, the first step is to submit an adoption application. You can download an application from the links below, attach the completed application to an email, and send it to the Humane Society of Jefferson County at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once the application is received, the approval process will take approximately 1-3 business days and you will be contacted as soon as it is completed. Please contact the shelter at 920-674-2048 with any questions.
