Hi, I'm Foxy!

I'm an adult spayed female yellow Shepherd / Mix.

Age: Adult (exact age unknown)

Weight: 38 lbs

My Story: I'm a beautiful girl with a very sweet and loving disposition. I am extremely shy so I need time to feel safe with new people and situations. (However, it only took me a few days to trust my shelter caregivers and love it when they pet and cuddle me!). I'm looking for a gentle adopter who understands that trust can't be rushed and I must be allowed to settle into my new home at my own pace. Time has proven over and over again that patience really pays off when you're helping a shy dog acclimate to a new home! I need a loving adopter who won't push me but instead lets me get comfortable at my own speed. Once I trust you, I am super affectionate and my whole purpose in life is to love and be loved! I'll do best in a home without cats or small dogs and am approved for gentle and respectful children over the age of 10-12 years. A fenced yard would be ideal for me but is not required; however, I should be accompanied outside and be kept on a harness and leash. (This is actually true for all dogs - just ask the HSJC staff about all the stray dogs the shelter takes in whose owners swear the dog "never leaves the yard!"). If you have dog experience and the time to commit to helping me settle in, your patience will be rewarded by the gift of my undying love and devotion! Foxy is looking for a home without cats or small dogs and is approved for respectful children over the age of 10-12 years.

The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
My adoption fee is $200.00.
I have been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and I've received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. I have tested negative for heartworm.
