I'm a very sweet and affectionate girl who was born with a condition called eyelid agenesis, where the upper lateral eyelid is not fully formed. This results in exposure of the cornea due to incomplete blinking, along with irritation from fur/hair rubbing on the cornea. The shelter is doing a fundraiser to help cover the cost of surgery to kill the hair follicles on my eyelids and eliminate any possible pain and irritation to my eyes. (My shelter caregivers are keeping me comfortable by lubing up my eyes and closely monitoring me for any signs of pain or irritation.) I have an appointment with a veterinary specialist but unfortunately it's not until September 13th due to the specialist's availability. (This was the earliest appointment available but if a spot opens up sooner we'll grab it!). I might have to wait a while to see a specialist, but the shelter doesn't want me to have to wait that long for a home so I'm available for adoption now! The HSJC will cover the cost of my agenesis related medical bills so all my adopter needs to provide is love. :)  I'm a truly wonderful girl who will be a very loving companion, and if my story and photos "speak" to you, we could be made for each other!

Thanks to the shelter's "No Mom Left Behind" program my adoption fee is just $40.00!
