Free Community Cat Spay/Neuter Program

Are there outdoor cats living in your neighborhood or on your property? The HSJC’s free Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program can help keep those cats healthy and their population in check.

This service includes:

  • Sterilization (Spay/Neuter)
  • Vaccinations
  • Parasite Treatment
  • Surgical Ear Tip
  • Trapping & Transport Assistance (if needed)

This life-saving, FREE service is generously funded through our main sponsor and kind donations from animal lovers.

Why TNR?

Female cats can have THREE litters a year! TNR is the best proven method of reducing outdoor cat populations – relocation/trap and kill doesn’t work. Sterilizing outdoor cats reduces the immense burden on shelter resources during “kitten seasons” every April and October.

Sterilized cats make better pets and neighbors – no more yowling or fighting at 3:00 a.m. and no more marking. A sterilized cat is a healthy cat! HSJC’s vet team will make sure your outdoor cats are flea, ear mite, and parasite free, and address any injuries at time of spay/neuter surgery.

What About My Barn Cats?

TNR is the responsible choice for barn or “working” cats, and it’s FREE! Surgery recovery is a single night. Sterilized cats don’t get lazy and will go right back to mousing! Worried you’ll run out of barn cats? Don’t worry, the HSJC is happy to supply feral cats to farms at no cost, as this program is supported through our main sponsor and subsidized by donations from those we assist.
