Hi, I'm Dudley!

I'm an adult neutered male black with white Labrador Retriever / Mix.

Age: Adult (exact age unknown)

Physical Description: Smooth-coated black and white, rose ears, docked tail.

My Story: I'm a super sweet young boy who loves to be loved. I really enjoy attention, and being petted and praised fills me with joy.  I'm such a happy guy that I developed "happy tail," which is when a dog wags their tail so hard against a kennel wall that the tail breaks open and bleeds. I had a recurring injury that wouldn't heal because of my non-stop "happy tail," and it was very painful so I had to have part of my tail amputated. Now I have an adorable stub tail and you should see how fast I can wag that little thing!  :)  I've been waiting a while to be adopted and although I'm still a very happy guy, I've begun to feel stressed in my kennel so I bark at visitors, which can make me seem unfriendly.  Lots of dogs feel stressed in a shelter environment so I hope you'll understand that I just need to be taken out and away from the kennel area to show you my true disposition, which is joyful, loving, and beautiful! I'm a young and athletic guy so I have a good deal of energy and will need daily walks and lots of play time with my adopter.  I'd love to attend obedience classes so I can learn to channel my energy in a positive way and be the best I can be.  Obedience training also helps dogs bond with their owners, and that's a great thing!  I've been waiting so long to find the awesome home I deserve, so if you're looking for a fantastically sweet and affectionate companion, please come meet me. Just ask a staff person to take me out and away from my kennel and I promise you'll see what a lovable guy I am!  Dudley is approved for families with children aged 12 and up.

The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

My adoption fee is $200.00.
I have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and I've received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. I have tested negative for heartworm.
