Hi, I'm Dudley!
I'm an adult neutered male black with white Labrador Retriever / Mix.
I'm a very sweet young boy who loves to be loved. I can be shy at first and sometimes cringe or cower around new people, which could mean that I was mistreated in the past. Although I am timid, if you treat me kindly I will very quickly want to be your best friend. :) I love attention, and being petted and praised fills me with joy. I have a great deal of energy and will need daily walks and lots of play time with my adopter. I'd love to attend obedience classes so I can learn to channel my energy in a positive way. Obedience training also helps dogs bond with their owners, and that's a great thing! Due to my shyness and my high exuberance level, I am approved for an adults only home. Here in my kennel at the shelter, I do bark at visitors because I feel unsure of the situation. I hope you understand that many dogs feel insecure in a kennel setting, and just need to get away from their kennels to show their true personalities. Please ask a staff person to take me out and away from my kennel and you'll see that I'm really just a wonderful, happy goofball!
I have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and I've received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. I have tested negative for heartworm.
If you are interested in adopting me, the first step is to submit an adoption application. You can download an application from the links below, attach the completed application to an email, and send it to the Humane Society of Jefferson County at email@example.com. Once the application is received, the approval process will take approximately 1-3 business days and you will be contacted as soon as it is completed. Please contact the shelter at 920-674-2048 with any questions.
