Meet Tulip!
Age: Approximately 1 year
Weight: 78 lbs
My Story: I'm a sweet 1 year old black Lab who is quite timid. I was surrendered because my owner doesn't believe in spaying and neutering but didn't want puppies. :/ (Here at the Humane Society of Jefferson County, all adoptable dogs, cats, and rabbits are spayed or neutered. Hooray!). I am very shy and need time to feel comfortable with new people. My adopter must treat me very gently and be prepared to go slowly with me to gain my trust. A securely fenced in yard would be ideal to keep me from running away if something frightens me. I came from the Monroe County shelter and the folks there said I'm good with most other dogs. Because of my age and breed, I have a good deal of energy and will need daily exercise to keep me happy. I'm approved for very respectful and gentle children over the age of 12. It will take some time for me to feel safe in my new home, but once I bond with my family I'll be a very loving and devoted companion! Tulip is approved for families with gentle and respectful children over the age of 12.
Tulip has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. Tulip has tested negative for heartworm.
