UPDATE 5/18/23: In her foster home Annie has been respectful of cats, loves having a crate as a safe place, and will cuddle with you on the couch for hours. She's having fun learning basic commands and walks very nicely on leash. She is working on potty training and learning to give back the toy when playing fetch. She's the perfect size for cuddling, not too big and not too small (roughly 40 lbs. and knee high). She is honestly an amazing dog and whoever adopts her will be very lucky!

 I'm a sweet and stocky girl who came from an overcrowded shelter down south. I've been at the HSJC for 3 months and I'm still waiting to find my forever home. I am sweet as pie, very friendly and loving, and not shy about giving kisses and asking for petting and belly rubs. My favorite things in the world are people, cuddling, toys, and treats. I'm a "play and lay" kind of girl, meaning I like to play hard and then chill out for cuddles and petting. I love to play fetch with stuffed toys and if there's no one around to throw a toy, I'll toss it up in the air for myself! I'm obsessed with Jolly balls and definitely need one in my new home. :)  I know the command for "sit" and would love to learn more. I like courteous male dogs and am selective about female dogs. I've also been respectful with cats. I'm approved for respectful children age 12 and up and my ideal adopter will give me daily exercise and play time, along with lots of affection. The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
