Hi, I'm Copper!
I'm a 4 year old spayed female tan Tan.
I'm a beautiful bunny who was purchased as a child's pet and when that child lost interest, I didn't get much attention in my outdoor hutch. This happens too often with "outside" rabbits, and it's one of the reasons the shelter requires indoor homes for its adoptable bunnies. A wonderful volunteer taught me how great it feels to be petted and how much fun it is to play, and now I LOVE attention from humans and I have a great time playing! I am looking for an indoor home where I'll get lots of time outside my cage every day to run around and explore and plenty of time interacting with my person. Rabbits are wonderful companions for people who can commit to giving them the time and attention they need. Rabbits aren't recommended as pets for children (because our delicate bodies and legs can be accidentally injured by younger kids) but I'd do fine with gentle, older children who are supervised by my primary adult caregiver. Like many bunnies, I don't enjoy being carried around (it's way too scary!!) but I adore being petted and will thrive in a home with someone who gives me lots of love. Check out the House Rabbit Society's website for great information on rabbits as pets - it will help you decide if you've got what it takes to be a good bunny person!
If you are interested in adopting me, the first step is to submit an adoption application. You can download an application from the links below, attach the completed application to an email, and send it to the Humane Society of Jefferson County at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once the application is received, the approval process will take approximately 1-3 business days and you will be contacted as soon as it is completed. Please contact the shelter at 920-674-2048 with any questions.
