Landscape Makeover

The Humane Society of Jefferson County would like to give a HUGE thank you to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., Nestle’ Purina, Coatings Unlimited, Inc., Pro Landscape Supply, WE Energies, Asplundh Tree Trimming Service, Beagle Tree Service, A-1 Tree Service, State Farm – Katie Myers, Master Gardeners Diane Kachel and Mike Hotter, and HSJC volunteers for donating their time, talents, and resources in support of our May Landscaping Project.

This project presented a daunting challenge for our small non-profit shelter. Fortunately, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., who will be working on an addition to the Nestle’ Purina facility in Jefferson over the next two years, reached out to ask if we had any projects they could help with. McCarthy believes in giving back to the communities in which they work and their
generous offer really got our landscaping project rolling.

Shelter grounds including the memory garden, flower beds, and sign space were completely transformed in just 3.5 hours thanks to some amazing companies and 22 awesome volunteers. We are incredibly grateful to each and every person who contributed so much, and worked so hard, to help clean up and beautify our outdoor space!
