Meet Jax!

  • 6 years old
  • Neutered male
  • 48 lbs.
  • Looking for a home with respectful, dog-savvy children
  • Has previously lived with a cat and would chase in play
  • No known experience with dogs
  • Potty trained in his previous home and appears potty trained at the shelter

Jax is a friendly, vocal boy with all the charm (and energy!) you’d expect from a herding breed, and he’s looking for a home that understands his breed’s quirks as well as dog-savvy kids who can respect his boundaries. He’s the perfect mix of active and cuddly, happy to join you for long walks or curl up on the couch. This smart guy was potty trained in his previous home and appears to be potty trained here at the shelter, knows sit, shake, and down, and walks nicely on leash. Jax loves to play fetch and is a pro at catching the ball, especially if it’s a squeaky tennis ball. While he previously lived with a cat he would sometimes chase to play, so any cats in his home would need to be able to tolerate that behavior. Jax is eager to find the right match for his playful, loyal personality.

Jax has been waiting a while to find his family so his adopter can name their own adoption fee when they take him home!

The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Adoption Fee: Decided by his adopter.
Jax has been , vaccinated, microchipped, and received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. Jax has tested negative for heartworm.
