Abby is a gentle, affectionate soul who’s come a long way since arriving at the shelter. After a difficult past, she’s slowly blossoming into a more confident and loving dog, and we know she’ll thrive even more in a home where she feels safe and cherished. Abby walks beautifully on leash, knows basic commands, and is doing well with potty training in her kennel. She adores attention and has done well with some of the dogs here, though she can be selective with her canine companions. Abby tends to be a bit timid around men at first, but with patience and positive experiences, she begins to warm up.
This sweet girl loves to play fetch and will keep you laughing with her zoomies as she runs joyful circles around you. She’s just as happy to relax by your side, curling up small enough to fit into your lap, showering you with kisses, and asking for belly rubs in return.
Though Abby can be vocal in her kennel, we believe that with an understanding adopter, her true potential will shine. She’s ready for a fresh start and a loving home where she can continue to blossom and become the best version of herself.
Abby has been waiting a while to find her family so her adopter can name their own adoption fee when they take her home!
The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
Abby has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. Abby has tested negative for heartworm.
