Josie is a friendly, fun, and spirited dog who brings lots of energy and joy wherever she goes. She loves going for walks and runs, and while she can pull a bit when she gets excited, she’s very treat-motivated and eager to learn, which makes her a great candidate for continued training. Josie especially loves playing fetch and racing around the yard to get her zoomies out. With her playful personality and enthusiasm for life, Josie is sure to bring plenty of adventure and smiles to her future home.

The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
Josie has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. Josie has tested negative for heartworm.

If you are interested in adopting, the first step is to submit an adoption application. You can complete the online adoption application or you can download an application from the links below, attach the completed application to an email, and send it to the Humane Society of Jefferson County at [email protected]. Once the application is received, the approval process will take approximately 1-3 business days and you will be contacted as soon as it is completed.
