INSTRUCTIONS

1. CHECK IN

At your scheduled pickup time, check in at the front desk and let them know you are here for Date-A-Dog.

2. GET YOUR SUPPLIES

We’ll provide you with everything you need for a fun and safe outing!

3. ENJOY YOUR DATE

Have fun and be safe! Please be mindful of our guidelines and the dog’s needs.

4. RETURN AND CHECK IN

When you return, please check in at the front desk and let us know you are back.

5. COMPLETE THE SURVEY

Complete the Date-A-Dog follow-up survey.

RULES & EXPECTATIONS

  1. Dogs must remain under the control of an adult (18+).
  2. Children may participate with approval but may not hold the leash.
  3. Prepare your vehicle for safe transport.
  4. Do not bring personal pets on outings.
  5. Maintain at least 10 feet of distance from other dogs in public.
  6. If bringing the dog home, check yards and homes for hazards such as holes, toxic plants, or unsecured items.
  7. Keep the dog leashed at all times in public
  8. Avoid dog parks and off-leash areas
  9. Use only positive reinforcement training
  10. Transport the dog safely using a doggie seat belt or crate
  11. Never leave the dog unattended
  12. Carry a working cell phone at all times
  13. Return the dog at the agreed-upon time
  14. Immediately report any bites, injuries, or concerning behavior

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

If a dog gets loose: remain calm, do not chase, attempt to safely regain control, and call the shelter immediately at 920-674-2048.

If a bite occurs: contact the shelter immediately at 920-674-2048, provide details about the incident, and follow the shelter instructions for next steps.
