Let’s Go For a Walk!
July 8, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeEvent Navigation
Walking your dog is so much more than just a way of exercising your pup. It stops your pooch from getting bored, it’s a behavior training opportunity, it can teach your dog how to behave in canine company, and helps to grow the bond between you both. However, dogs aren’t born knowing how to walk on a leash and this workshop will teach your dog how to follow your lead.
Join Danielle Bartz of the Lake Mills Veterinary Clinic on Saturday, July 8th as she offers half hour sessions from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Jefferson County Dog Park. Come when you can and stay as long as you’d like to learn the right way to teach your dog to walk on a lead.
Dogs must be people friendly, dog friendly, current on all vaccinations, and leashed with 4′ to 6′ non-retractable leash. A daily Dog Park permit or annual tag is required to bring your dog to the Jefferson County Dog Park. Registration forms are available at the park or online at http://www.jeffersoncountywi.gov/departments/departments_f-r/jefferson_county_dog_park.php.
We’d love to know how many people are coming so we can plan accordingly. Please RSVP by phone at 920-674-2048, email at shelter@hsjc-wis.com, or click the “Going” button on the Facebook event page.
This is a free workshop sponsored by Pet Partners, a partnership between the Lake Mills Veterinary Clinic and the Humane Society of Jefferson County.
