Teach a Great Recall
June 22, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Event Navigation
It will take approximately one year of regular, consistent training for most dogs to come when called at least 95% of the time. Does that sound like a lot of work? It is . . . but consider this: most dogs live ten or more years. If your dog comes when called for nine out of ten years, isn’t that worth it? Get off on the right paw with your recall training at this FREE workshop! You will learn simple, effective techniques and how to avoid common mistakes that can ruin your dog’s recall.
The workshop will be held in the shelter’s outdoor play yard on Saturday, June 22nd, with half hour sessions starting at 10:00 am, 10:30 am, 11:00 am, and 11:30 am. In the case of inclement weather, the workshop will move inside to the shelter’s Community Education Room.
Dogs must be dog and people friendly, current on vaccinations, and leashed with a 4′-6′ non-retractable leash.
The workshop is free, but monetary donations or items from the shelter’s wish list are greatly appreciated!
This workshop is divided into four sessions, and each session can handle up to 15 dogs. If more than 15 dogs are present, preference will be given to participants who have pre-registered. Thank you for helping us plan ahead! Please contact the shelter by phone at 920-674-2048, email at shelter@hsjc-wis.com, or respond to the Facebook event to let us know what session you’re planning on attending!
This workshop is sponsored by Pet Partners, a partnership between the Lake Mills Veterinary Clinic and the Humane Society of Jefferson County.
