Marti
About Marti
· Requires a home with a feline playmate
· Looking for a home without young children
· No known experience with dogs
· Needs help learning to trust
Marti is an endlessly energetic and playful kitten who is still learning that people can be friends. He came into the shelter feeling afraid of people, but with patience and gentle encouragement, he's been slowly learning to trust. Once he's feeling comfortable, Marti is ready for fun and adventure!
Marti will need an adopter who understands that building trust takes time and is committed to helping him feel safe in his new home. He'll need to start out in a small room, such as a bathroom, where he can get comfortable with his new surroundings. Several short socialization sessions each day over the course of a few weeks will help him gradually learn that people are safe and that good things happen when he comes out to interact.
Because Marti needs gentle, patient guidance, he's looking for a home without young children who may not understand that he can't be picked up and played with right away. He'll also need a home with a feline playmate who can help him build confidence, provide companionship, give him an appropriate outlet for all that kitten energy, and continue teaching him good manners. With time, patience, and the right feline friend, Marti has the potential to become a wonderful companion.
