Thank You, Volunteers!

Dear HSJC Volunteers,

With the holiday season in full swing, the staff at the Humane Society of Jefferson County wanted to share our gratitude to all the amazing volunteers for their dedication, compassion, and never-ending care for the animals and the HSJC. This season of thanksgiving, we want to recognize our volunteers who seek out ways to make a difference and show what working together can accomplish. Although we sing your praises each and every day around the shelter, we wanted to make sure that we turned up the volume a bit during the holidays.

So far in 2023, over 19,000 hours of volunteer and foster service hours were tallied. That is simply amazing! Volunteers applied their talent to such tasks as keeping our community cat rooms spotless and inviting, socializing the cats and kittens, ensuring all the cats at our Madison PetSmart location are clean and cared for, cleaning and socializing the small animals, pet grooming, dog walking, cleaning dog kennels, photographing adoptable animals, sanitizing dishes, laundry, laundry, and more laundry, fostering animals in need of extra TLC, helping with educational and therapy presentations, staffing booths at events, participating in holiday parades, writing thank-you notes, grounds keeping, assisting in the office, and lending their time and talents with Rabies and Microchip Clinics, the Furry Friends 5K, Kids Camps, Trivia Nights, Block Party, and countless other events! In other words . . . you’ve done it ALL!

Thank you again for all that you do for us—you really do make a difference!

Sincerely, the HSJC
