Hi, I'm Joan!
I'm a 2 year old spayed female tricolor (tan/brown & black & white) Beagle / Mix.
Age: Approximately 2 years
Weight: 18 lbs
My Story: I'm a super sweet Beagle who came from an Alabama shelter. I spent time in a foster home in Alabama and here's what my foster person said about me: "I've only had Joan for about four days and in this short time, I've fallen in love with her! She is a very sweet and gentle little girl and she gets along great with all my dogs and cats. She has been a joy to have around and any family will be so lucky to adopt Joan!" Here at the HSJC, I've been just as sweet as I was in my Alabama foster home. I am shy in new situations but am reassured by a kind word and gentle petting. Because I can be spooked by things I think are scary, I'll do best in a home where any kids are age 12 or older. I'm on the thin side but now that I'm getting enough food I'll gain the weight I need. I'm looking for an adopter who will commit to me for my whole life long, and love me as much as I love them! Joan is approved for families with children aged 12 and up.
I have been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and I've received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. I have tested negative for heartworm.
If you are interested in adopting me, the first step is to submit an adoption application. You can download an application from the links below, attach the completed application to an email, and send it to the Humane Society of Jefferson County at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once the application is received, the approval process will take approximately 1-3 business days and you will be contacted as soon as it is completed. Please contact the shelter at 920-674-2048 with any questions.
