Meet Nova, a sweet, vocal, and adventure-ready pup who loves making friends and being part of the action. Nova has lived with other dogs and has done wonderfully with her doggie friends at the shelter. She loves playing tug, going for walks at the park, and sniffing around and exploring alongside her canine companions. Nova is playful, social, and always ready for her next adventure. She would love a family who will keep her active, give her plenty of opportunities to explore, and enjoy all the love and personality she has to offer.
The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
Nova has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and received routine treatment for internal and external parasites. Nova has tested negative for heartworm.

If you are interested in adopting, the first step is to submit an adoption application. You can complete the online adoption application or you can download an application from the links below, attach the completed application to an email, and send it to the Humane Society of Jefferson County at [email protected]. Once the application is received, the approval process will take approximately 1-3 business days and you will be contacted as soon as it is completed.
