Yardstick’s story hasn’t always been an easy one. Before coming to the shelter, he was ill, malnourished, and living with a fractured leg after being run over by farm equipment. Thanks to the care of our medical team, he was able to recover, regain his health, and leave that pain behind.
While Yardstick will always carry a few reminders of his past, including a scar on his eye and the loss of one of his hind legs, those things don't slow him down. He can still see, get around, eat, drink, play, use the litter box, and enjoy life just like any other cat. In fact, he seems determined not to let his difficult start define him.
Yardstick is a super friendly, outgoing boy who loves attention and affection. He enjoys being around people and is always happy to soak up pets and companionship. He also has plenty of playful energy and loves batting around toys and entertaining himself between cuddle sessions.
Despite everything he’s been through, Yardstick has remained optimistic, loving, and full of life. He’s proof that resilience comes in feline form, and he’s ready to leave his past behind and become a cherished companion in a loving home.
Yardstick has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and received routine treatment for internal and external parasites.
